Job summary

VHC Health in Arlington, VA is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider to deliver specialized cardiovascular and thoracic surgery care in an inpatient setting, primarily in the CVICU and CV Stepdown units. The APP will manage complex post-operative patients and collaborate with CVT surgeons and the multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal outcomes.

The role requires a Master's in Nursing with a path to completion within 24 months, at least one year in cardiovascular and thoracic surgery, and

Qualifications

Master's degree in Nursing (to be obtained within 24 months if not completed).
Minimum of one year in cardiovascular and thoracic surgery or advanced practice nursing.
Prior CVICU experience strongly preferred.
Current RN license from the Virginia DHP or Compact State Licensure.
Nurse Practitioner license from the Virginia DHP preferred.
National certification as NP (or eligibility upon hire).
Current BLS and ACLS certifications required.

Responsibilities

Deliver comprehensive care to CVT surgery patients in CVICU and CV Stepdown units.
Perform patient assessments and manage post-operative recovery.
Order and interpret diagnostics, prescribe medications, and perform bedside procedures.
Participate in patient education and discharge planning.
Ensure adherence to clinical protocols, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
Document all care accurately in the EHR.
