Job summary

SMG System Medical Group is seeking an Advanced Practice Professional (APP) to provide high-quality, patient-centered care as part of an interdisciplinary team. The APP will assess, diagnose, treat, and manage hospitalized patients, coordinate care with hospitalists, and participate in resident and student education.

The role requires NP/PA credentials, strong clinical skills, and the ability to work within perioperative and ambulatory care pathways as needed.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a CCNE accredited nursing program with Master’s Degree in Nursing.
• National Certification by one of the recognized APRN Certification Centers.
• Licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Registered Nurse and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in West Virginia.
• American Heart Association BLS Certification with Advanced Life Support as required by the department.

Responsibilities

• Manages comprehensive and individualized care for hospitalized patients.
• Completes daily rounds and pre-procedure evaluations.
• Performs diagnostic/therapeutic procedures per scope of practice.
• Coordinates inpatient and ambulatory care planning and discharge planning.
• Educates residents and medical/nursing students.
• Documents plan of care and outcomes in the medical record.
• Collaborates with physicians, nurses, and other clinicians.
