Job summary

UNC Health in Butner, NC seeks a Behavioral Health Technician to join the Youth Behavioral Health facility. Must be a Certified Nursing Assistant with 1 year in behavioral health; the role focuses on pediatric patients with developmental disabilities on the 4YBH unit, delivering multidisciplinary care under supervision.

Qualifications

• Must be a Certified Nursing Assistant and have 1 year working in a behavioral health unit.
• CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) certification within 60 days from date of hire.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
• One year of relevant experience in a behavioral health environment.

Responsibilities

• Aids patients in reality orientation and behavior modification plans.
• Provides de-escalation, personal care, and assists with daily living activities.
• Interacts one-to-one and in groups to encourage participation.
• Observes patient condition and reports changes to RN or physician.
• Maintains safety and participates in milieu activities.
• Documents patient information and assists in care planning.
