Southcoast Health is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to join the Addiction Consult Service at St. Luke's Hospital in New Bedford, MA.

The role focuses on inpatient evaluation and treatment of patients with substance use disorders, operating within an interdisciplinary team to deliver evidence-based, compassionate care. The APP will manage withdrawal, start and oversee medications for addiction treatment, and coordinate care across the patient’s

Qualifications

• Experience in inpatient medicine or hospital settings.
• Strong commitment to evidence-based, patient-centered care.
• Formal training or experience in addiction medicine preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient Addiction Medicine Consults to hospitalized patients.
• Work with an interdisciplinary team across three hospital sites.
• Manage withdrawal, initiate and continue medications for addiction treatment (MAT).
• Provide harm-reduction counseling and care coordination after discharge.
• Deliver compassionate, non-stigmatizing care for patients with SUD.
