Job summary

University of Colorado Colorado Springs invites applications for a non-tenure track, full-time Assistant Teaching Professor in CACREP-accredited Clinical Mental Health and School Counseling programs.

Ideal candidates hold a master’s degree with training in School Counseling and/or distance instruction; 4/4 teaching load with course development time; undergraduate courses in human services and summer teaching opportunities; advising graduate students and supervising practicum/internship students.

Qualifications

• Non-tenure track, full-time Assistant Teaching Professor position in CACREP-accredited programs.
• Master's degree or higher with training and experience in School Counseling and/or remote or distance delivery of instruction.
• 9-month academic year, with teaching load and curriculum development responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in counseling and human services using trauma-informed, inclusive, and culturally responsive pedagogies.
• Design and deliver engaging lessons across face-to-face, hybrid, and online modalities; use educational technologies to enhance accessibility and student outcomes.
• Collaborate with faculty on curriculum design, course alignment, and co-teaching opportunities; ensure content reflects licensure competencies.
• Provide student-centered academic advising and career mentorship; support readiness for fieldwork and licensure pathways.
• Engage in departmental governance, accreditation efforts, student recruitment, and program assessment; build partnerships for practicum/internship placements.
