Bon Appetit is hiring a Sous Chef at Pepperdine University in Malibu. You will oversee the Culinary Department operations, assist in supervision, preparation and cooking, and help develop daily menus and garnishes. You may supervise hourly staff and collaborate with the Executive Chef to create menus and assist with ordering.

This energetic culinary professional role emphasizes creativity, leadership, and culinary growth within a contract food service environment.

Qualifications

• Some progressive culinary/kitchen management experience.
• Catering experience is a plus.
• Experience in high-volume, complex foodservice operations is desirable.
• Knowledge of current culinary trends, quality, production, sanitation and food cost controls.

Responsibilities

• Assist Executive Chef with managing cost controls and expenditures.
• Plan and create menus with the culinary team.
• Produce and execute catering events.
• Roll out new culinary programs with company marketing and culinary team.

Education

A.S. or equivalent experience
