Job summary

Montgomery-Public-Schools is seeking a Social Studies Teacher to join our team across various Birmingham-area locations. The successful candidate will plan and deliver standards-aligned instruction for 9 months, maintain high expectations, and engage students using technology and diverse instructional strategies.

Responsibilities include facilitating assessments, utilizing data for planning, and participating in school activities to support district goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or higher from an accredited college or university.
• Valid Alabama Teacher's Certificate.
• Must meet Every Student Succeed Act (ESSA) federal and state requirements or a willingness to meet the requirements.

Responsibilities

• Utilize technology to plan and provide instruction and facilitate student learning.
• Model appropriate and innovative use of technology for students.
• Facilitate and monitor the integration of technology in the classroom.
• Provide modifications for students with special needs, including ELL and exceptional education students as required.
• Select, develop, modify and/or adapt materials and resources which support learning objectives and address students' varying learning styles and backgrounds.
• Establish routines and uses appropriate behavior management procedures.
• Participate in administration of local and state testing as assigned.
• Use formative and summative assessment to monitor student progress; interprets and uses data for instructional planning and program evaluation.
