Job summary

Baltimore City Public Schools seeks a Teacher of Computer Science for secondary grades (7–12) to plan and deliver engaging CS instruction using multimedia and tech resources. The role requires strong communication and collaboration within a team and with families.

The position supports student achievement, manages behavior, and contributes to school activities while ensuring compliance with policies and instructional standards.

Qualifications

• Valid educator license in secondary grades Computer Science education or eligible for conditional license.
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or institution.
• Knowledge of federal laws protecting educational services for students with disabilities.
• Knowledge of CS content, curriculum, methods, materials and equipment.
• Excellent oral and written communications and human relations skills.
• Ability to plan and implement lessons per division/school objectives.
• Ability to establish and maintain relationships with students, peers and parents.

Responsibilities

• Plans and implements CS instructional program for grades 7–12 with appropriate materials and tech.
• Assesses student achievement and maintains documentation for reporting.
• Maintains communication with parents about student progress and expectations.
• Collaborates with guidance counselors, librarians, and other staff to maximize learning.
• May sponsor extracurricular activities and participate in school-wide events.
