Job summary

Crafco, Inc. is seeking a Research Engineer at our corporate headquarters in Phoenix, AZ to lead research, formulation development, and specification conformance across asphaltic materials and related products.

You will support sales, manage raw material specs, and drive data‑driven improvements with a multi‑disciplinary team. The role requires a BS in science/engineering, hands‑on lab experience with pavements, strong rheology knowledge, and the ability to travel up to 25% while maintaining

Qualifications

Minimum of a BS in science or engineering or equivalent experience.
Three years' experience in formulation, evaluation and development of modified asphalt or related products.
Strong rheology knowledge with dynamic shear rheometry and ASTM/AASHTO standards.
Ability to develop and document test methods when needed.
Willingness to travel up to 25% and to lift 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

Formulation development and specification conformance for asphaltic materials and related products.
Collaborate with product development on research across the portfolio.
Issue and update raw material specs, production formulations, and manufacturing instructions.
Design controlled experiments, analyze data, and support technical decisions.
Coordinate experimental analyses of raw materials and finished products for formulations.
