Job summary

Chicago Public Schools is seeking a Teacher for the North/Northwest Side location, responsible for instruction, progress, and discipline of students in assigned classes.

The role requires completing student teaching requirements and obtaining an Illinois teaching certificate (PEL or ELS). The incumbent will plan lessons, assess student progress, and communicate with parents while supporting attendance and classroom management.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of subject matter consistent with state certification requirements.
• Ability to modify instruction to meet student needs; collaborate with staff and parents.
• Good oral and written communication skills and professional judgment.

Responsibilities

• Provide instructional planning with written lesson plans aligned to objectives.
• Evaluate pupil progress and maintain accurate records of achievement.
• Apply instructional methods and materials reflecting current curriculum.
• Coordinate field trips and participate in extra-curricular activities as needed.
• Communicate with parents about pupil progress, attendance, and conduct.
