The ideal candidate will hold a Professional Educator License (PEL) or Educator License with Stipulations (ELS) endorsed for the position, with successful completion of student teaching and ISBE-certification requirements.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of student teaching requirements and required coursework for teaching certification in Illinois.
• License must be Professional Educator License (PEL) or Educator License with Stipulations (ELS) endorsed for this position.
• Knowledge of state standards, current instructional methods and classroom management techniques.
• Ability to communicate effectively with parents, guardians and school staff.

Responsibilities

• Plan lessons and prepare written lesson plans aligned with instructional objectives.
• Deliver instruction, monitor pupil progress and maintain accurate records of achievements.
• Establish and enforce classroom rules consistent with the Uniform Discipline Code.
• Communicate with parents/guardians about pupil progress, attendance and conduct.
• Coordinate and participate in field trips and after-school activities as needed.
