Qualifications

• Valid PA certification in Special Education is required.
• Ability to present information clearly to administrators, staff, parents, students and partners.
• Ability to modify curriculum materials to meet student needs.
• Knowledge of behavior management principles.
• Use de-escalation techniques to manage challenging situations.
• Interpret Functional Behavior Assessments and develop PBIs/IEPs.
• Use data collection and analysis to monitor progress.
• Knowledge of Assistive technology and universal precautions.
• Create an educational environment aligned with the educational process.
• Strong organizational, writing and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and write reevaluation reports based on assessments and records.
• Develop and deliver an appropriate IEP for students.
• Evaluate student progress toward IEP goals via data and observation.
• Prepare progress reports and mandated paperwork within timelines.
• Maintain accurate special education records in compliance with regulations.
• Establish and enforce positive behavior rules and procedures.
• Collaborate with parents and staff to implement IEPs and accommodations.
• Adapt curriculum to meet individual needs.
• Follow district policies and procedures.
• Maintain professional demeanor and collaborate with co-workers.
• Use email, Microsoft Office, and student information systems for communication.
• Complete other duties as assigned by building principal or supervisor.
