Job summary

Abby Kelley Foster Public Charter School is seeking a Middle School Technology Teacher to deliver computer science instruction aligned with the Massachusetts DLCS curriculum. You will develop engaging lessons, differentiate for diverse learners, and assess student progress while fostering collaboration and critical thinking.

The role requires a Bachelor's in CS or related field, MA CS teaching certification, and prior CS teaching experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
• Valid teaching certification/license in Computer Science (or ability to obtain certification in MA).
• Proven experience in teaching computer science courses with DLCS alignment.
• In-depth knowledge of CS concepts, programming languages (Java, Python), and software development methodologies.
• Strong pedagogical skills and ability to engage students through effective instructional strategies.

Responsibilities

• Teach computer science courses based on the Massachusetts DLCS curriculum, including coding, algorithms, data structures, languages, and systems.
• Develop and deliver lesson plans, instructional materials, and assessments aligned with standards.
• Utilize diverse teaching methods and technologies to enhance hands-on coding activities.
• Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs and prior CS knowledge.
• Provide clear feedback to support growth and foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment.
• Stay current with CS education trends and participate in professional development.
• Collaborate with colleagues to align curriculum and share best practices.
• Communicate progress and opportunities in CS to students, parents, and stakeholders.
