Example of Duties

Under general direction, the IMPACT (Innovative Methods for Policing and Community Togetherness) Specialty Clerk will support operations by managing all aspects of Anchorage Municipal Code (AMC) 8.80 enforcement (Fee for Excessive Police Responses) including the tracking of police responses to both residential and commercial addresses, prepare billing for associated fines with excessive police responses, attend administrative hearing office proceedings for contested bills, prepare evidence folders, testify on APD processes for AMC 8.80, and coordinate with municipality collections for payment. Support IMPACT operations by issuing and tracking trespass letters for both commercial and residential properties, generate reports for police response data, and track and report IMPACT statistics. Perform other duties assigned.

Must possess and/or obtain:

  • Alaska Public Safety Information Network (APSIN) / National Crime Information Center (NCIC) certification within thirty (30) days of hire.
  • Satisfactory Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) background check at time of hire.
  • Satisfactory national criminal background investigation (13 AAC 85.010, and 13 AAC 85.210) and financial review.
  • Valid State of Alaska Driver’s License with satisfactory driving record at time of hire.
Additional Important Information

The APD Selection Process will be utilized. The Selection Process includes evaluating and confirming applicant information and developing a ranked list by the following factors:

Oral Board - minimum 60% passing score.

Discipline Review (Internal candidates only).

Secondary Discipline Review will occur at time of transfer. (Internal candidates only. The list will be re-ranked, if necessary, to account for both new discipline and expired discipline.)

The eligibility list for the

Innovative Methods for Policing and Community Togetherness (IMPACT) Specialty Clerk

is good for one (1) year from the date following the conclusion of the selection process, when the Certified Eligibility List is published.

If the individual selected for this position fails to obtain these clearances and access within the specified timeline, they individual will be terminated.

Military Service Interview Preference
