Job summary

QSA Global, a division of ITW, is seeking a Mechanical Engineer in Burlington, MA. You will design, prototype, test, and implement manufacturing and product development tasks with cross-functional teams to meet performance, cost, and schedule goals.

The ideal candidate holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering, 3–7 years of experience, and proficiency with SolidWorks and 3D CAD. Travel is limited and opportunities for impact are significant.

Qualifications

• B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Typically 3–7 years of engineering experience in manufacturing, production, product development, or design environment.
• Proficiency with 3D CAD design software; SolidWorks experience strongly preferred.
• Experience working with hand & power tools.
• Working knowledge of machine shop practices, manufacturing processes, materials, and tolerancing.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement creative, technically sound solutions to moderately complex engineering problems.
• Create and maintain detailed design models, layouts, assemblies, and engineering drawings while meeting project schedules and design requirements.
• Develop drawings, specifications, calculations, and supporting documentation for components, tooling, equipment, and systems.
• Plan and perform hands-on assembly, testing, evaluation, and troubleshooting of prototype and production designs.
• Review engineering drawings and technical documentation for adherence to company specifications and standards, and serve as a technical checker or peer reviewer when appropriate.
• Provide direct engineering support to manufacturing, including troubleshooting, root-cause investigation, process improvements, tooling/fixture support, and product assembly as required.
• Participate effectively in design reviews and cross-functional teams.
• Lead smaller engineering projects or defined work packages, including planning tasks, coordinating resources, tracking progress, and communicating status.
