Job summary

The Austin Company is seeking a design engineer in Irvine, CA to independently perform assignments using standard design techniques for small projects or segments of larger ones. A BS in engineering with 3–5 years of experience is required, and EIT/EI certification is preferred.

You will determine client requirements, prepare drawings, and coordinate with construction personnel to ensure constructability and timely delivery. We offer a comprehensive benefits package and a competitive salary.

• Independent judgment in evaluating and applying standard design engineering techniques.
• Ability to interpret and develop specifications and drawings for small projects.

Responsibilities

• Determines client requirements and develops specifications, drawings, instructions, and related documents.
• Reviews vendor drawings for major components.
• Evaluates need for design changes and makes recommendations.
• Coordinating with construction personnel concerning design qualification and scheduling.
• Ensures drawings, specifications, reports, and analyses meet scope, schedule, cost, and quality requirements.
• May supervise lower-level engineers on projects.
