The Austin Company is seeking a design engineer in Irvine, CA to independently perform assignments using standard design techniques for small projects or segments of larger ones. A BS in engineering with 3–5 years of experience is required, and EIT/EI certification is preferred.

You will determine client requirements, prepare drawings, and coordinate with construction personnel to ensure constructability and timely delivery. We offer a comprehensive benefits package and a competitive salary.

Independently performs a variety of assignments requiring the application of standard design engineering techniques for a small project or selected segments of a larger project. Candidate must be capable of exercising independent judgment in evaluating, selecting, and applying standard design engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria to make minor design adaptations and modifications. Assignments have clear and specific objectives and require the investigation of a limited number of variables.

Requirements

BS in an Engineering discipline with 3-5 years related experience.

EIT/EI certification is preferred.

• Ensures that production of drawings, specifications, reports, and analyses meet scope, schedule, cost and quality requirements.
• May plan, schedule, coordinate, and oversee the work of lower-level engineers who assist with particular projects.
• Prepares technical reports and sections of proposals as requested.

The hiring/salary range for this position in California is $78,000 - $117,000 per year. Please note that this is a just a suggested framework and salaries could fall outside of this. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience amongst other factors.
