Job summary

KLA is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer in Milpitas, CA to develop innovative mechanical designs across the full product lifecycle. You will define requirements, conduct feasibility studies, and collaborate with optics, systems, and manufacturing teams to ensure flawless integration and testing.

The role emphasizes 3D modeling in Creo or SolidWorks, GD&T, and strong fundamentals in mechanics and heat transfer, with close alignment to manufacturing processes.

Qualifications

• Master's degree with 2 years related work experience or Bachelor's degree with 3+ years of related work experience.
• Experience with 3D solid modeling using Creo or SolidWorks (ProE acceptable).
• Solid understanding of statics, mechanics of materials, fluid flow and heat transfer; manufacturing understanding including machining, welding and sheet metal forming.

Responsibilities

• Drive requirement specification and feasibility studies.
• Perform conceptual and detailed design with 3D modeling; produce drawings.
• Conduct analyses (fluid, thermal, vibrational, FEA) and GD&T checks.
• Collaborate across optics, systems, and manufacturing teams; manage suppliers.
• Create and release assembly and test procedures; support integration and testing.
