Job summary

KLA Milpitas is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to drive robust mechanical solutions across the full product lifecycle. You will work closely with Optics, Systems, Manufacturing and Service teams to ensure flawless integration, testing, and manufacturability of advanced semiconductor metrology hardware.

The role requires strong CAD and analysis skills, experience with Creo/SolidWorks, and the ability to manage suppliers and prototype parts in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Master's degree with 2+ years of related mechanical design experience or Bachelor's with 3+ years.
• Strong fundamentals in statics, mechanics of materials, fluid flow and heat transfer.
• Experience with 3D modeling in Creo or SolidWorks.
• Familiarity with machining, sheet metal fabrication, welding and 3D printing.
• Knowledge of vacuum systems is a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced semiconductor environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop innovative mechanical designs across the full product lifecycle.
• Conduct feasibility, design reviews and tolerance analysis.
• Create 3D models and detailed drawings (Creo/ProE).
• Perform fluid, thermal, vibrational and FEA analyses.
• Collaborate with Optics, Systems, Manufacturing and Service teams.
• Manage suppliers and prototype parts; test and document assembly procedures.
• Support system integration and release to manufacturing.
