ELCO Lighting is seeking a Product Development Engineer in California to drive the full product lifecycle from concept to production. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and test innovative lighting solutions that meet customer needs.

The role requires a strong foundation in electrical and mechanical engineering, CAD modeling, and robust testing. This is an on-site position in Vernon, CA, with benefits including health and retirement plans.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience in product development, preferably in lighting.
• Knowledge of LED lighting concepts is a plus.

Responsabilités

• Conceptualize, design, and develop lighting products (LED fixtures, controls, systems).
• Apply photometry, optics, and thermal management to optimize performance.
• Create 3D models and drawings using CAD (SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
• Build and test prototypes to validate function, durability, and safety.
• Perform photometric, thermal, and electrical tests.
• Oversee UL/ETL and other safety testing and certifications.
• Document designs, test results, and specifications.
• Ensure regulatory compliance (UL, CE, DLC).
