Job summary

ELCO Lighting in Vernon, CA is seeking a Product Development Engineer to drive lighting product development from concept to production. You will design LED fixtures, optimize optics and thermal management, and develop test protocols in collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities include CAD modeling (SolidWorks/AutoCAD), prototyping, performance testing, and ensuring UL/CE/DLC compliance, while maintaining documentation and timelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Proven experience in product development, preferably in lighting.
• Experience with CAD tools and prototyping/testing methods.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Conceptualize, design, and develop lighting products including LED fixtures and systems.
• Apply photometry, optics, and thermal management to optimize performance.
• Create 3D models and drawings using CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
• Build and test prototypes to validate design, ensuring functionality and safety.
• Lead performance testing (photometrics, thermal, electrical) and certifications.
• Manage product development from concept to launch with timelines and budgets.
• Document designs, tests, and specifications; ensure UL/CE/DLC compliance.
