Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking an experienced Instrumentation and Controls Designer in Bothell, WA to join our engineering team. The candidate will prepare drawings, perform drafting in AutoCAD and Revit, and support installation and commissioning under the Lead I&C Engineer.

Ideal candidates hold an AA/AS in drafting or Instrumentation, 2+ years of I&C design experience, and proficiency with SmartPlant, AutoCAD, and P&IDs to produce accurate, compliant drawings across the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

AA in drafting or AS in Instrumentation/Industrial Automation from a qualified school required.
2+ years industrial or power plant I&C design experience preferred.
Ability to read and interpret P&IDs and installation details.
Familiarity with drafting standards and document control procedures.
Strong math skills and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

Layout I&C drawings from notes, vendor drawings, SOW or DBD.
Produce wiring diagrams, location plans, loop sheets and junction details.
Draft using AutoCAD 2D/3D and Revit; create 3D models in project plant-wide model.
Utilize SmartPlant Suite to render instrument data and ensure placement accuracy.
Provide installation details and maintain project documentation.
Check drawings against other disciplines and support site teams.
