Atlas Copco Mafi-Trench Company LLC seeks an Electromechanics Product Development Engineer to advance active magnetic bearing (AMB) and high-speed motor/generator systems for turbomachinery. You will design, analyze, and refine components to improve performance, reliability, and efficiency in an engineered-to-order environment.

Based in Santa Maria, CA, you will collaborate across drafting, engineering, and manufacturing to maintain CAD models and contribute to scalable manufacturing readiness

Qualifikationen

• BS in Mechanical, Electrical, or Aerospace engineering or related field.
• Experience with rotordynamics and turbomachinery design is preferred.
• Experience or interest in active magnetic bearing and high‑speed motor/generator technologies.
• CAD/CAE tools experience, SolidWorks preferred.

Aufgaben

• Conduct R&D on AMB tech and high-speed motor/generator systems for expander and compressor applications.
• Collaborate with drafting, engineering, and manufacturing to prepare precise specs, drawings, and BOMs.
• Maintain and update 3D CAD models and 2D drawings to meet performance and quality standards.
• Develop expertise in electromagnetic systems and high-speed integration; stay current on global advancements.
• Analyze turbomachinery components to deliver innovative design solutions through a rigorous development process.
• Enhance fabrication, assembly, and troubleshooting workflows for scalable integration in manufacturing.
• Provide technical guidance to internal teams on application and optimization of high-speed drive systems.
• Represent Atlas Copco in technical discussions with customers, suppliers, and partners.
