Job summary

IFF in Madison, Wisconsin is seeking a highly skilled scientist to lead dairy enzyme applications across dairy products. This on-site role involves designing experiments, applying enzyme solutions to meet customer needs, and collaborating with R&D, marketing, and regulatory teams.

You will work in a lab and pilot plant environment, analyze product performance using HPLC and related techniques, travel up to 50%, and translate data into commercial opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Master’s or Doctorate (MSc/PhD) with 3+ years of experience in dairy enzyme applications.
  • Strong knowledge of dairy chemistry, enzyme functionality, dairy processing, and product formulation.
  • Hands‑on experience in laboratory and pilot plant environments for dairy applications, with emphasis on analytical techniques (HPLC).
  • Proven ability to manage independent and cross‑functional projects in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills in English.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a diverse project portfolio including technical sales support, customer trials, troubleshooting, training, and new product and analytical method development for dairy enzyme applications.
  • Design and execute laboratory, pilot, and commercial-scale experiments to evaluate dairy enzyme performance in products.
  • Develop and optimize dairy product formulations by applying enzyme solutions to meet customer needs.
  • Provide technical expertise and hands-on support to customers and distributors in the use of dairy enzymes.
  • Translate customer challenges and market insights into opportunities for dairy enzyme innovation.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, marketing, product management, regulatory, and global application teams.
  • Build strong relationships with customers, distributors, and academic experts.
  • Deliver technical presentations, reports, and product demonstrations to internal and external audiences.
