Job summary

Fort Worth ISD seeks an Associate Teacher to support classroom teachers across elementary and secondary levels. The position pays $180 per day and reports to the campus principal.

Responsibilities include developing lessons, taking attendance, supporting special education through IEPs, and employing effective instructional strategies while using technology to enhance learning. The role requires a Bachelor's degree and may prefer ACP or traditional educator certification.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree from accredited college or university.
• Certification/License: Evidence of acceptance into an Alternative Certification Program (ACP) or completion of a traditional educator certification program.
• Experience: Approved internship or student teaching preferred.
• Language: Bilingual (English/Spanish) working proficiency preferred in some settings.

Responsibilities

• Report to assigned school 20 minutes prior to the start of the school day.
• Assist with dismissal procedures.
• Take student attendance.
• Develop and implement lesson plans in line with district curriculum.
• Prepare lessons reflecting accommodations for different learning styles.
• Present subject matter according to TEA guidelines and district policies.
• Plan and use instructional strategies reflecting student learning styles and needs.
• Conduct assessment of student learning styles and use results to plan activities.
• Coordinate with special education staff to modify curricula per IEPs.
• Develop instructional goals with staff according to district requirements.
• Create and implement classroom management plans and follow district discipline procedures.
• Monitor student behavior outside classroom during designated times.
• Use technology to strengthen teaching/learning processes.
• Perform other duties as assigned by campus leadership.
• Assist in preparing reports and maintaining records.
