Job summary

Tufts Medicine is seeking patient care techs for Lowell General Hospital's Emergency Department. You will provide expert inpatient nursing support under nurse guidance, performing ADLs, preparing rooms, and ensuring safe, compassionate care for patients awaiting beds.

Ideal candidates are flexible, strong communicators, and eager to help shape a new care model in a dynamic hospital setting. 24 hours per week, day shift, with weekend/holiday rotation.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
• Healthcare experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living under nurse guidance.
• Prepare patient rooms and maintain a clean, safe environment.
• Prioritize care according to the discharge plan and nursing direction.
• Transport patients to procedures and transfers when directed.
• Use glucometer and basic equipment; collect specimens as needed.
• Greet visitors professionally and assist with admissions/registrations.
