Job summary

Medici Brands seeks an Innovation Manager to scout new technologies for its Epogee unit. You will identify innovations in food, ingredients, and biotech, build business cases, and collaborate across teams to align application fit, cost-in-use, and regulatory pathways with product-market demand.

You will map landscape domains, perform diligence, and recommend make/buy/partner options while engaging universities, startups, and suppliers to advance strategic opportunities.

Qualifications

• 5+ years evaluating technologies or businesses in R&D, corporate development, consulting, venture, or a similar role.
• Advanced degree (MS, PhD, MBA) in a technical or business discipline preferred.
• Ability to evaluate technical depth by reading primary literature and data behind claims.
• Commercial judgment balancing application fit, cost-in-use, and market demand.
• Fluency in IP: read patents and know when to escalate to counsel.
• Venture capital, corporate venture, tech transfer, or licensing experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Scout and screen technologies across priority domains such as encapsulation, delivery, and biotech platforms with food applicability.
• Lead technical and IP diligence, evaluate primary literature, and design confirmatory experiments.
• Build commercial cases: addressable space, cost-in-use, regulatory path, and time-to-revenue.
• Develop partnerships and deals, structure memos, NDAs, and licensing terms, with legal/commercial teams.
