Job description

Our client is seeking an Innovation Manager – Applied AI to help shape how generative AI and emerging technologies are integrated into legal practice. This individual will collaborate with attorneys, innovation leaders, and business teams to identify opportunities where AI can streamline legal work, improve efficiency, and enhance client service.

This role serves as the connection between legal professionals and technology, helping attorneys adopt AI solutions through practical guidance, training, and workflow optimization. The ideal candidate combines legal experience with a passion for innovation and enjoys working directly with stakeholders to drive meaningful technology adoption.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with attorneys and practice groups to identify opportunities where generative AI and legal technology can improve day-to-day workflows.
  • Design, implement, and support AI-driven processes that align with practice needs and firm objectives.
  • Partner with attorneys to understand adoption challenges, collect feedback, and recommend practical solutions that increase engagement with new technologies.
  • Develop and deliver training sessions, workshops, demonstrations, presentations, and educational materials focused on AI capabilities and best practices.
  • Serve as a trusted resource for attorneys on legal technology initiatives and AI-enabled solutions.
  • Analyze user adoption and engagement trends to identify opportunities for additional training, process improvements, and expanded technology utilization.
  • Support knowledge management initiatives by leveraging AI to improve the accessibility and organization of legal information.
  • Communicate attorney feedback and business needs to Innovation leadership to help shape future enhancements and strategic priorities.
  • Assist with evaluating, piloting, and implementing new AI tools while documenting outcomes and measuring success.
  • Champion organizational change by promoting best practices, supporting user adoption, and helping integrate new technologies into everyday legal operations.
  • Participate in additional innovation initiatives, cross-functional projects, and departmental priorities as needed.
Qualifications
Required Skills
  • Strong interest in generative AI, legal technology, and emerging digital solutions within a professional services environment.
  • Excellent relationship-building and communication skills with the ability to establish credibility among attorneys, leadership, and business professionals.
  • Ability to simplify complex technical concepts and communicate them effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Self-motivated with a collaborative mindset and a passion for driving technology adoption and continuous improvement.
  • High level of professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment when working with confidential information.
  • Strong presentation and facilitation skills, including experience leading workshops, demonstrations, training sessions, and executive presentations.
Education & Experience
  • Advanced graduate degree required; Juris Doctor (JD) strongly preferred.
  • Previous legal experience within a law firm or corporate legal department is highly desirable.
  • Three or more years of professional experience supporting legal operations, innovation, knowledge management, legal technology, or related client-facing initiatives.
  • Experience leading training, process improvement, technology adoption, or organizational change initiatives is preferred.
Technical Skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Experience working with collaboration, document management, or knowledge management platforms such as SharePoint, HighQ, or similar solutions.
  • Ability to quickly learn, evaluate, and support emerging legal technologies and AI-powered platforms.
  • Familiarity with workflow automation, reporting, or analytics tools is considered a plus.
