Job summary

Mortenson offers a summer internship designed to provide hands-on experience from day one, working with project teams to keep initiatives moving. You will help solve real problems, stay organized, communicate across teams, and build a foundation for your career while contributing to meaningful projects.

The program runs May–August 2027, with opportunities to learn from the i4 Innovation Team and develop skills in research, planning, and collaboration. A competitive hourly wage applies.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing an undergraduate four-year degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Related degrees include Industrial Design & Engineering, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Product Design, Automation & Robotics, AI, Architecture, Data Analytics, Software Development.

Responsibilities

• Partner with internal and external agents to design, manufacture and test innovative product, process or systems.
• Create detailed research presentations comparing current process, technology and tools against potential innovative solutions.
• Develop schedules and estimates to iteratively evaluate the investment necessary for implementation.
• Partner with internal customers and external vendors to help create accurate execution plans.
• Assisting in quantifying and communicating results.
• Openly communicating and celebrating failures as a learning mechanism for the group.
