Job summary

Wells Enterprises is seeking a Senior Manager, Innovation Finance to lead financial analysis for the innovation portfolio from concept to commercialization. You will own P&Ls, build business cases, and guide investment decisions with cross-functional partners to balance risk and growth.

The role reports to the Senior Director, Commercial Finance and requires 10+ years in Finance, with strong modeling, Excel, and familiarity with Oracle EPM/Hyperion.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in Finance, ideally in CPG or brand-focused roles.
• Strong analytical skills with deep understanding of P&L management.
• Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders.
• Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills; experience with Oracle EPM, Hyperion, or similar systems a plus.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.

• Reports to: Senior Director, Commercial Finance.

Responsibilities

• Lead financial evaluation of the innovation portfolio from concept through commercialization.
• Develop and maintain innovation P&Ls, business cases, and investment recommendations.
• Assess profitability, margin structure, volume assumptions, and ROI for new products.
• Partner with Marketing, Operations, R&D, Supply Chain, and Commercial teams to embed financials early.
• Establish financial criteria and decision frameworks for prioritization.
• Facilitates financial alignment and transparency of assumptions across stakeholders.
• Support stage-gate reviews and executive decision-making processes.
• Identify risks, sensitivities, and key assumptions affecting outcomes.
• Provide portfolio trade-off recommendations and resource allocation guidance.
• Provide guidance and developmental leadership to direct reports.
• Ask probing questions, challenge assumptions, and explore alternatives.
• Make timely recommendations while considering risks and uncertainties.
