Job summary

Samsung Austin Semiconductor seeks a highly skilled Innovation Equipment team member to manage equipment performance and factory metrics in collaboration with Fab Engineering. You will analyze data, develop solutions, and lead cross-functional efforts with internal teams and external vendors.

The role requires strong communication, project management, and Lean/Six Sigma experience, with deep knowledge of semiconductor equipment.

Qualifications

  • B.S. in mechanical, chemical or electrical engineering preferred; other engineering/manufacturing degrees accepted.
  • Minimum of 5+ years experience in Semiconductor industry required.
  • 3+ years of experience in a Project or Program Manager position with Lean and/or Six Sigma.
  • Green/Black Belt Lean Certification preferred.
  • Data analysis and visualization skills in tools such as Spotfire or JMP are expected.
  • Programming experience in Python, SQL, HTML is a plus; Full Stack and cloud computing experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Manage fab-wide equipment engineering improvement projects across cross-functional teams and business units.
  • Lead Lean activities including Value Stream Mapping, process mapping, and AIW.
  • Analyze equipment gap-to-goal with fab engineering and drive initiatives to meet performance metrics.
  • Prepare staff/executive level presentations, proposals, and status reports to drive continuous improvement.
  • Capable of shifting focus of individual goals as priorities change and possessing deep equipment knowledge.
  • Collaborate with multiple engineering teams to reduce inefficiencies using data analysis and Lean methodology.
  • Work with equipment analytics and solutions team to interpret data and develop novel cross-functional solutions.

Position Summary

As a member of the Innovation Equipment team, this person will be responsible for managing equipment performance and factory metrics in collaboration with Fab Engineering teams. The position will require strong knowledge of semiconductor equipment operation and maintenance, in order to analyze equipment data, develop solutions, and ensure actions are implemented. Additionally, this role will need to exhibit strong communication skills in order to lead cross‑functional teams internally to Samsung and externally with equipment vendors and OEMs.



Role and Responsibilities

Here’s What You’ll Be Responsible For:



  • Manage fab wide equipment engineering improvement projects across cross‑functional teams and business units.

  • Lead Lean activities to include Value Stream Mapping (VSM), process mapping, and AIW.

  • Work with fab engineering teams to analyze equipment gap‑to‑goal and drive initiatives to meet performance metrics.

  • Staff/Executive level presentations, proposals and status reports to drive continuous improvement process.

  • Possess expert understanding of semiconductor equipment and should be capable of shifting focus of individual goals when priorities change.

  • Work with multiple engineering teams to reduce inefficiencies using data analysis and lean methodology.

  • Work with equipment analytics and solutions team to interpret data to develop and implement novel solutions for cross functional teams.



Skills and Qualifications

Here’s what you’ll need:



  • B.S. in mechanical, chemical or electrical engineering preferred. Other engineering/manufacturing degrees accepted.

  • Minimum of 5+ years experience in Semiconductor industry required. Knowledge in theory of operations and equipment maintenance preferred.

  • 3+ years of experience in a Project or Program Manager position with a background in Lean and/or Six Sigma.

  • Green/Black Belt Lean Certification preferred.

  • Customer Focus: Dedicated to finding and bringing Value in their analysis to our internal and external customers.

  • Data analysis and visualization skills in TIBCO Spotfire, JMP, or similar software.

  • Programming experience in Python, SQL, HTML is a plus.

  • Full Stack development and cloud computing experience is a plus.



The current base salary range for this role is between $76,000 - $145,000. Individual base pay rates will depend on factors including duties, work location, education, skills, qualifications and experience. Total compensation for this position will include a competitive benefits package and may include participation in company incentive compensation programs, which are based on factors to include organizational and individual performance.
