Job summary

SL TENNESSEE in Clinton, TN is seeking a Packaging/Material Flow Engineer to design and optimize material support systems for Pre-Production and Assembly. You will focus on reducing waste, improving UPH/UPMH, and leading in-house packaging development for new programs.

The role requires collaboration with the Innovation team and other departments to plan layouts, manage packaging databases, and drive lean manufacturing practices across all related areas.

Qualifications

• Work Experience: Prefer 3 years in a production automotive supplier facility.
• Material flow and support systems design.
• Design and Develop Packaging.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop material support systems for Pre-Production and Assembly for new programs.
• Track spending of support systems built for all areas.
• Develop and implement line layout improvements focusing on UPH/UPMH and Scrap reduction.
• Improve material flow in Pre-Production, Assembly and Warehouse.
• Create In House packaging forms for CFT approval.
• Plan and design in house packaging for new programs and coordinate improvements for current programs.
• Coordinate with other departments as needed for packaging process and concept approval.
• Manage Packaging database system (Approvals, Drawings and Quantities).
• Improve Pre-Production WIP layout to accommodate new programs or remove old programs.
• Support BEP/TFT and other special projects as Innovation Manager request.
• Coordinate Innovation Operators daily work assignments in cooperation with Innovation Team Leader.
• Support weekly inventory of supplies needed for Innovation.
• Create standards based on Lean Manufacturing Principals.
• Other assigned tasks as needed.
