Job summary

Sub-Zero Group, Inc. is seeking a Lab Supervisor for the Innovation Center Test Lab in the Madison area. The role supports cross-functional new product development projects and oversees testing activities across Sub-Zero, Wolf, and Cove product lines.

Responsibilities include supervising lab staff, coordinating testing schedules, and driving process improvements while ensuring safety and compliance in a fast-paced environment. A Bachelor's in Engineering or related field is required.

Responsibilities

• Schedule Lab Staff to prioritize testing and use Agile for reporting.
• Forecast resource availability with BU and NPD project teams.
• Collaborate with engineering/facilities to improve testing capabilities.
• Identify and implement improvements to the test process.
• Perform STOP audits and review safety items with staff and engineers.
• Identify Lab Staff training needs and coordinate delivery.
• Oversee Test Lab team performance management.
• Maintain inventory system for test components and cleanliness.

Our Innovation Center Test Lab team is integral to the success of helping to support all of our new product development projects. This position will work cross functionally to support Sub-Zero, Wolf, and Cove development and testing requests.

Responsibilities:

• Scheduling: Supervise Lab Staff to ensure testing is prioritized and completed in an efficient manner. Utilize Agile for lab reporting.
• Forecasting: Communicate with both BU (Business Unit) and NPD (new product development) project teams to estimate resource availability from test plans.
• Lab Projects: Work with engineering/facilities to implement new equipment and/or procedures that improve testing capabilities and time to test completion rates.
• Test Process: Work with all levels to identify and implement improvements to the test process.
• Safety: Perform “STOP” Audits as required and review safety items routinely with staff and engineers to prevent injuries.
• Training: Identify Training needs of Lab Staff and coordinate/provide training.
• Supervisory responsibilities: Supervision for Test Lab team including Performance Management for the team
• Housekeeping: Ensure test components are kept in the inventory system for testing and dispositioned to keep the labs organized and clean.

Qualifications

Education

Bachelors or better in Engineering or related field.

Experience

Required

Familiarity with test equipment, electrical components, and computer data acquisition

Ability to adapt to change quickly and efficiently

Management experience in fast-paced environment

6-10 years:

Work experience in Lab or Appliance environment

Preferred

PLM Software, LabVIEW or other data acquisition experience
