Job summary

Mercer Health is seeking an Innovation Architect – Product Design to transform raw ideas into investable opportunities. You will lead product thinking, human-centered design, and AI-enabled process reimagination within the Health Innovation Studio, collaborating with architects to refine concepts and prioritize outcomes.

The role emphasizes defining problems, validating demand, and shaping end-to-end innovation from intake to investment readiness.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in product management, product strategy, management consulting, or innovation program management.
• Experience in the healthcare industry.
• Background in digital transformation, AI product development, or enterprise technology strategy.
• Demonstrated ability to facilitate workshops and working sessions that drive alignment and clarity across diverse stakeholder groups.
• Strong problem definition and structured thinking skills — able to move from a vague idea to a well-scoped opportunity brief.
• Familiarity with AI capabilities and a working understanding of how AI can reshape business processes and workflows.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex ideas for both executive and operational audiences.
• Ability to manage multiple ideas and workstreams simultaneously in a fast-moving environment.

Responsibilities

• Work with fellow Innovation Architects as a key contact for innovation submitters, guiding refinement and discovery.
• Facilitate workshops to surface root problems behind ideas and reframe solutions as needed.
• Translate ambiguous concepts into clearly scoped problem statements, opportunity briefs, and solution hypotheses.
• Support the end-to-end innovation intake pipeline with rigor and momentum.
• Apply a product mindset to evaluate ideas against user needs, market opportunity, and feasibility.
• Define the problem being solved to ground investments in real pain points.
• Partner with stakeholders to validate demand and workflows impacted by proposed solutions.
• Develop frameworks for evaluating idea maturity and readiness for investment.
• Reimagine processes with AI to create new value and reshape workflows.
• Prepare ideas for Innovation Council with clear documentation and framing.
• Support willingness-to-pay analysis and value quantification for prioritization.
• Collaborate to develop preliminary business cases with value hypotheses and risks.
• Own day-to-day project management across the innovation cycle.
• Coordinate validation activities and stage-gate readiness.
• Maintain portfolio visibility and drive timely progression of concepts.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of the innovation process and tools.
• Produce thought leadership assets and external engagement materials.
