The Delaware Department of Correction is seeking a Correctional Records Technician at the first level of the Correctional Record Series. You will support the agency by reviewing sentencing documents, organizing inmate case files, calculating time credits, and entering data into automated systems to support custody decisions and release timelines.

The role requires accuracy, basic math skills, and experience with records management.

Qualifications

• Six months' experience in document processing such as reviewing and evaluating records for completeness.
• Six months' experience in record keeping, including filing, tracking, and retrieving documents.
• Coursework or experience in math, including decimals and percentages.
• Experience using automated information systems to enter, update, modify, retrieve, and report data.

Responsabilités

• Verifies and reviews sentencing orders and translates them into calendar dates for parole, transfer, and release.
• Maintains inmate case files containing classification data and legal documents.
• Uses automated information systems to enter, update, modify and report data.
• Verifies no outstanding charges before inmate release.
• Answers inquiries from inmates, relatives, court personnel, police, attorneys, and counselors; Testifies in court as needed.
• Reviews legal documents for completeness and compliance with laws.
• Prepares various reports.
