Job summary

The Brevard County Sheriff's Office is seeking an advanced clerical professional to handle data entry, review, evaluation and retrieval related to the facilities Classification System. You will assess inmate incarceration elements to facilitate placement and determine custody factors, working under general supervision.

The role includes meeting inmates for history assessments, evaluating eligibility, managing grievances, coordinating schedules, and handling public inquiries.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Administrative experience in a court or legal field preferred.
• Accurate data entry with strong reading comprehension; Excel proficiency preferred.

Responsibilities

• Meet with inmates daily for personal history assessment and determine custody factors.
• Evaluate inmates using criteria to set custody level, housing and program eligibility.
• Manage inmate data entry, grievances and routing of information in Jail Management System.
• Coordinate schedules, review lists, and process inmate requests and disciplinary actions.
• Answer phones, assist public, and perform additional clerical tasks as assigned.
• Maintain regular attendance as an essential function.
