Job summary

Florida Department of Corrections, Everglades Correctional Institution, Classification Department, seeks a Classification Officer for a non-telework Career Service role in the designated area. You will manage inmates through a collaborative case management approach, conduct assessments, coordinate referrals, evaluate data, maintain OBIS records, and lead hearings.

Four of six qualifications or a bachelor’s degree are required; experience with OBIS and Microsoft Office is preferred.

Qualifications

• Four of six qualifications OR bachelor's degree are required.
• Experience in case management with assessments, planning, coordination, and evaluation.
• Experience reviewing, auditing, analyzing data or proofreading data.
• Experience applying laws, rules, and procedures.
• Experience with OBIS and related programs.
• Experience with Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Conduct periodic and unscheduled assessments to track inmate progress and motivate positive adjustment.
• Plan and coordinate referrals for treatment, programs, work and services.
• Evaluate diverse information sources to decide on inmate management actions.
• Maintain accurate inmate records in OBIS and other applications.
• Lead disciplinary hearings and manage special status inmate reviews.
