The South Carolina Department of Corrections is seeking a qualified individual to administer tests, conduct inmate interviews, and determine vocational and treatment information during intake.

You will refer inmates for further assessment, provide orientation via video and in-person communication, and explain the intake process and SCDC overview to applicants. Must complete four weeks of SCDC Basic Training upon hire.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree may substitute for related experience.
• Associate's degree plus 1 year administrative and/or correctional experience.
• High school diploma plus 2 years administrative and/or correctional experience.

Responsabilités

• Administers group/selected individual tests and conducts interviews to determine vocational and treatment information.
• Refers inmates for additional assessment.
• Provides orientation from each inmate through video and verbal communication.
• Explains the intake process and provides an overview of the SCDC.
• Administers and evaluates group tests of intelligence, academic, achievement and substance abuse.
• Individually conducts the intake assessment interview on each inmate and makes CRT entries as required.
• Generates appropriate referrals based on assessment data.
• Reviews inmate records for documentation and contacts proper individuals/agencies.
• Completes transfer requests to assigned institutions.
