Job summary

Centerline Logistics Corporation seeks an experienced Master to supervise inland towing vessel operations along Gulf Inland Waters, conduct inspections and audits, and manage crew performance. You will interface with customers and coordinate with project development and scheduling, while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

The role requires several years of master-level experience, appropriate licenses, and strong leadership to maintain SIRE readiness and cost-effective operations.

Qualifications

  • Five (5) years of experience as Master on Inland towing vessels.
  • Four (4) year college education in Maritime or related studies or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of two years shoreside vessel management.
  • First Aid/CPR training.
  • STCW Certification preferred.
  • Valid State Driver’s license.
  • Proficient using Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel and Outlook).

Responsibilities

  • Supervise Captains, Mates, and Deck Crews.
  • Conduct Management Vessel Inspections on repair and maintenance standards and procedures.
  • Ensure vessels are SIRE ready at all times.
  • Assist in scheduling of SIRE’s, and SIRE inspections.
  • Perform incident investigations.
  • Manage compliance with Company safety program.
  • Recruitment, performance reviews and auditing of marine personnel.
  • Develop and administer operating & cost control procedures on Company vessels.
  • Interface with customers on an ongoing basis.
  • Operate company vessels as Captain if directed by President, Vice President, Director of Marine Operations, or General Manager.
  • Training, professional skill development of marine personnel.

Education

USCG Master License (Inland & Western Rivers) or 200-ton Near Coastal Master with tow endorsement
