Job summary

Cabot Corporation in Billerica, MA is seeking a Research Associate for the Inkjet Research & Development team. The role focuses on developing aqueous pigment dispersions and inkjet inks, performing formulation, testing, and data analysis in a hands-on lab environment.

You will work with scientists and engineers to evaluate materials, support product development, and ensure data integrity in ELN. The position is full-time, on-site, with comprehensive benefits and ongoing growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma with 2+ years of relevant industrial or laboratory experience, OR Associate/Bachelor degree in a technical or scientific discipline.
• Strong interest in experimental science and willingness to learn.
• Experience in ink, coating, or formulation science is desirable.
• Familiarity with Python or AI-powered tools for data analytics is valuable.

Responsibilities

• Perform applications testing to understand customer experience, including ink making, print testing, drawdowns, image analysis, and color evaluation.
• Characterize materials using analytical techniques and maintain clear data records in ELN.
• Enter experimental data into the electronic notebook and prepare laboratory reports summarizing findings.
• Calibrate testing equipment and maintain safety and protocol compliance.
