Job summary

General Formulations is seeking a Mix Room Operator for 2nd shift (3pm–11pm) at our Sparta, MI facility. The role involves setup, operation, and cleanup of mixers, cast tanks, and the compounding area, with a focus on safety and productivity.

You will transport and stage materials, print labels, and perform basic product testing using viscometer and pH meter. Strong reading, math, and teamwork are essential in this fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; manufacturing background preferred.
• Ability to read and follow written and oral instructions.
• Good mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly.
• Able to work in a loud, fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate pallet jacks and forklifts in a production environment.
• Set up and operate mixers, cast tanks, and compounding equipment.
• Receive, stage, and issue materials following FIFO.
• Print labels, job travelers, and manage shop floor transactions.
• Maintain 5S standards and keep area clean.
• Perform basic product testing using viscometer and pH meter.
