Augusta Health in Fishersville, VA seeks an Injury Prevention Coordinator to lead the hospital’s safety and workers’ compensation efforts. The role focuses on risk reduction, incident prevention, and proactive safety program development.

Requirements include an advanced degree in Physical/Occupational Therapy or BSN, an active RN license or PT/OT license, and at least 5 years in workplace safety. BLS required within 30 days; multiple certifications encouraged.

Qualifications

• Graduate professional degree in Physical or Occupational Therapy or BSN Nursing required.
• MSN in nursing or Doctorate in Physical Therapy or Occupational Therapy preferred.
• Current and valid RN license in Virginia or a Compact state OR current PT/OT license required.
• BLS within 30 days of hire.
• CWCP / CCM / ARM or equivalent certification or within 1 year preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in workplace safety and/or injury prevention.

Responsabilités

• Risk assessment and prevention: monitor and assess hazardous situations.
• Inspections: periodic workplace inspections for hazard-free environment.
• Training and Education: develop and conduct safety training and drills.
• Accident investigation: investigate all accidents and near-misses and implement actions.
• Policy enforcement: enforce safety guidelines and correct unsafe acts.
• Compliance and reporting: ensure legal health and safety compliance; prepare reports.
• Safety program development: assist in creating safety and health programs.
• Communication: promote safety awareness and liaise with departments and regulators.
• Manage Active Worker’s Comp Claims/Cases with Workers Comp Coordinator.
