Job summary

Augusta Health in Fishersville, VA seeks an Injury Prevention Coordinator to lead the hospital’s Injury Prevention Program and align it with workers’ compensation efforts. You will collaborate with Safety, Facilities and department leaders to identify risks and implement preventive measures across the organization.

Qualified candidates have a graduate degree in Physical/ Occupational Therapy or a BSN in Nursing (MSN or Doctorate preferred), valid RN, PT, or OT licensure, and at least five years

Qualifications

• Graduate degree in Physical or Occupational Therapy or BSN Nursing is required.
• RN license in Virginia or a Compact state is required; PT/OT licensure also acceptable.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire is required.
• Minimum of 5 years in workplace safety or injury prevention is required.
• Certifications in workers’ compensation or case management are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Risk assessment and prevention: Monitor and assess hazardous situations.
• Inspections: Conduct periodic inspections to ensure a hazard-free environment.
• Training and Education: Develop and conduct safety training and drills.
• Accident investigation: Investigate accidents and near-misses to determine causes.
• Policy enforcement: Enforce safety guidelines and correct unsafe acts.
• Compliance and reporting: Ensure compliance with health and safety laws and prepare reports.
• Safety program development: Develop a comprehensive safety and health program.
• Communication: Promote safety awareness and liaise with staff and regulators.
• Manage Active Worker’s Comp Claims/Cases with Workers Comp Coordinator
