Job summary

Den Hartog Industries is hiring a full-time production worker in Hospers, IA. The role requires basic math, ability to read shop orders, and forklift certification may be required. You will operate injection and printing machines, inspect parts for defects, and ensure accurate paperwork and labeling.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

includes the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Reads shop orders to determine machine number, shop order number, part number, and part description.
  • Operates Injection and Printing Machines by positioning components and removing finished parts as required.
  • Inspects parts for defects and promptly notifies Supervisor, Coordinator, or Technician of issues caused by machine malfunction.
  • Handles secondary jobs such as sonic welding, part trimming, weighing parts, or other assigned tasks.
  • Monitors material levels in machines and ensures grinders are operating properly.
  • Packages plastic parts according to customer specifications.
  • Accurately completes production paperwork, shop orders, and labeling requirements.
  • Maintains housekeeping responsibilities, including sweeping, organizing, and putting away equipment after jobs are completed.
  • Uses the computer system to clock in/out of jobs and record required production data.
  • Identifies and corrects safety hazards, or promptly informs appropriate personnel.
  • Professionally and positively communicates with employees and management; responds to the needs of internal and external customers.
  • Serves as a positive example to other employees through compliance with company policies.
  • Projects enthusiasm about the company through positive interactions with others, including internal and external customers.

Prior experience in assembly or production helpful, but not required.

Certified forklift driver.

Must be able to push, pull and move equipment and/or supplies in excess of 35 pounds, and have ability to lift/carry up to 35 lbs. And team lift up to 70 lbs. Must be able to distinguish colors. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus. The employee is occasionally required to operate a computer, use the telephone, sit, kneel, squat and lay. Frequent exposure to elements such as odors, oil, fumes and noise.

Position requires the ability to understand and communicate instructions.

Employee must wear required personal protective equipment, including hardhat, safety glasses with side shields, goggles/face shields, hearing protection in designated areas, Kevlar gloves, and/or other equipment as task dictate.
