Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Install, repair, and maintain production equipment from routine to complex tasks.
  • Maintain equipment files including maintenance records and schedules.
  • Keep tools organized and use corporate tool account as needed.
  • Maintain high housekeeping standards on all machines and work areas.

Job description

Responsible for the operation, setup, and maintenance of injection molding machines used to manufacture plastic parts.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Adhere to OSHA and company safety standards.
  • Operate hydraulic and electric molding machines across multiple platforms.
  • Prepare machines for production by setting up robots, molds, and workstations.
  • Perform preventative maintenance checks on assigned equipment.
  • Analyze electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and operational problems of plastic injection molding machines.
  • Repair and diagnose problems with support equipment such as thermolators, chillers, air compressors, etc.
  • Perform routine to complex production equipment installation, repair, and maintenance.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical devices and equipment and determine needed actions for repair.
  • Generates and maintains equipment specific files that include maintenance records and schedules.
  • Responsible for their own tools. (Can use a corporate tool account)
  • Maintain high standard of housekeeping on all machines, equipment and work areas.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Vocational certificates are preferred or equivalent on the job training required in two or more of the following areas: welding, electrical, hydraulic.
  • Three to five years’ experience preferred in the Plastic Injection Molding field.
  • General understanding of electrical wiring and circuitry.
  • Able to read and comprehend building and machine blueprints.
  • Working knowledge of all related power and hand tools and metering and testing devices that are used in performance of job duties.
  • Valid Indiana Driver’s License.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as written instructions, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally or via electronic communication with team members as well as outside vendors.

REASONING ABILITY

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed and involved written or oral instructions.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Aptitude for learning needed skills.
