Job summary

Evenflo Company, Inc. in Ohio seeks a Production Supervisor to lead molding operations in our Piqua facility. You will supervise production associates, ensure safety and quality, and drive productivity.

The role requires strong leadership, hands-on coaching, and the ability to troubleshoot equipment and coordinate maintenance. A High School diploma or GED and 3 years of related experience are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Observance of all safety and environmental procedures and ensure safe work practices within the department.
  • Provide leadership and coach production associates to ensure he/she understands and contributes to company objectives.
  • Coordinate training of departmental employees; provide timely and constructive feedback regarding performance and communicating this information to Plant Production Supervisor.
  • Identify and assist in implanting cost saving(s) projects and efficiency improvement activities.
  • Develop and implement plans to improve safety, quality, delivery and productivity.
  • Coordinate preventative maintenance activities with support functions.
  • Lead 5S efforts, stress good housekeeping and safe work practices.
  • Foster creativity, innovation and communications within the production team.
  • Be a mentor to promotable employees.
  • Troubleshoot and assist in resolving processing problems with injection molding machines alongside technician.
  • Set‑up and start‑up Molding Machines and auxiliary equipment in the absence of a technician.
  • Relay pertinent product and quality‑related information to Operators, Inspectors, Supervisors and peers – written and verbal
  • Accurately records and reports waste, and assists departmental supervision in maintaining inventory control.
  • Diagnose tooling problems and perform minor repairs as necessary.
  • Perform first shot inspections and confirm job is ready for production.
  • May troubleshoot electrical problems with dies and barrel heats, mix plastic resin with colorants and additives, relieve operators at break times, and engage in material handling.
  • Verifies and monitors machine cycles and cavitation’s.
  • Identifies waste in the process and minimizes downtime.
  • Maintains clean working conditions in assigned areas and reports any safety hazards immediately.
  • Must be able to operate a forklift (stand‑up & sit‑down) safely.
  • Transportation of raw materials and finished goods to and from molding area as needed for production.
  • Perform miscellaneous duties as required by supervision.
  • Include answering Operator, machine, or equipment alarms as needed.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

High School diploma or GED required.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
  • Three years related experience and/or training
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED
  • High school diploma or equivalent; and three years related experience and/or training.
  • Physical Requirements, Medium work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physically able to lift, bend, stoop, climb, reach and move across uneven surfaces. Ability to stand most of the shift.
  • Ability to recognize visual defects as defined by product specifications, knows what to do if recognized. Exercises discriminatory judgments, Strong oral and written communications skills. Must be able to read, write and verbally communicate effectively.
  • Must pass Evenflo's forklift training and obtain License to operate forklift.
  • Requirements are representative of minimum levels of knowledge, skills and/or abilities. To perform this job successfully, the candidate will possess the abilities or aptitudes to perform each duty proficiently.
