Job summary

Thunderbird LLC is seeking a Process Technician - Plastics in Elgin, IL to optimize production processes and implement corrective measures for discrepancies while producing high quality injection molded parts safely and efficiently.

The role requires hands-on experience with molding machines, process setup, and collaboration with QC to uphold safety and quality standards. Training opportunities and a strong benefits package are offered.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Process Technician preferred.
• Train machine operators on molding operations.
• Possess processing skills to achieve quality parts and optimized cycle times.
• Experience with injection molding processing on presses.
• Experience with various mold concepts and resin types.
• Familiarity with SIM and decoupled molding concepts.

Responsibilities

• Operate machine start-up/shutdown and perform adjustments to meet safety and quality requirements.
• Set up molding machines to predefined conditions and validated operating parameters.
• Maintain optimal flow of produced products in production.
• Collaborate with QC to resolve non-conforming products through effective communication.
• Ensure all process parameters stay within the predefined window daily.
• Report changes in cycle times to scheduling.
• Maintain housekeeping of machines and work area.
• Consult with supervisor on technical issues.
