Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Injection Molding Process Technician to support day-to-day production operations in a plastics manufacturing environment. The technician will be responsible for setting up, operating, adjusting, and troubleshooting injection molding processes to maintain consistent production, product quality, and equipment performance.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on plastic injection molding experience, strong troubleshooting abilities, and a solid understanding of molding processes, tooling, and quality requirements.

Shift Schedule

2nd Shift: 2:30 PM – 11:15 PM, including approximately 45 minutes of daily overtime

3rd Shift: 10:30 PM – 7:15 AM, including approximately 45 minutes of daily overtime

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and adjust injection molding machines for production runs.
• Perform machine start-ups, shutdowns, and product changeovers.
• Monitor molding processes and adjust process parameters to maintain consistent part quality.
• Troubleshoot machine, tooling, material, and process-related issues.
• Identify and correct defects such as short shots, flash, warping, sink marks, and other molding issues.
• Inspect molded parts to ensure they meet quality specifications.
• Record and maintain process settings, production information, and quality data.
• Perform routine equipment checks and communicate maintenance requirements.
• Work closely with Quality and Maintenance teams to resolve production issues.
• Assist with training and supporting machine operators.
• Help reduce scrap, improve cycle times, and increase overall production efficiency.
• Follow all company safety, housekeeping, and manufacturing procedures.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives within the molding operation.

Required Qualifications

• 2+ years of hands-on plastic injection molding experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong injection molding setup and process troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to identify and resolve machine, tooling, and process issues.
• Knowledge of injection molding processes, materials, and equipment.
• Strong understanding of quality control and inspection practices.
• Ability to read and follow production, quality, and process documentation.
• Stable employment history.
• Ability to work the assigned 2nd or 3rd shift schedule.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with injection molding machine setup and changeovers.
• Experience optimizing molding parameters and cycle times.
• Knowledge of plastic materials and common molding defects.
• Experience working with molds/tooling and basic preventive maintenance.
• Continuous improvement or lean manufacturing experience.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a hands-on Injection Molding Technician / Process Technician with at least two years of plastics manufacturing experience who can independently troubleshoot molding processes, perform setups and changeovers, maintain consistent part quality, and support production efficiency.
