Job summary

Atomic Industries, Inc. is seeking a hands-on Injection Molding Process Technician to set up, optimize, and troubleshoot our press lineup, ensuring machines run efficiently and meet quality targets. You’ll help minimize scrap and downtime across high-volume molds.

This role is critical to producing complex molds with tight tolerances and will involve close collaboration with QA and Tooling teams, plus mentoring operators. A strong manufacturing background and molding experience are essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years hands-on experience in injection molding.
• Able to read and interpret part prints and work instructions.
• Strong troubleshooting and mechanical aptitude.
• Experience in high-volume, fast-paced production environments.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 or IATF environments; RJG or Paulson training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up molds, material, and auxiliary equipment per production schedule.
• Start, stop, and dial-in injection molding processes to meet part specs and cycle time targets.
• Monitor machine performance and make real-time adjustments to pressures, speeds, and temperatures.
• Conduct first-piece inspections and approve production startups.
• Identify and troubleshoot part defects, flash, short shots, and dimensional issues.
• Maintain accurate process documentation, startup sheets, and change logs.
• Work closely with Quality and Tooling teams to ensure tool readiness and optimize cycle times.
• Perform minor machine maintenance and support daily PM tasks.
• Train and mentor machine operators as needed.
