Job summary

Summit Polymers is a leading global supplier of automotive interior systems and a strong culture of continuous improvement. We seek an Engineer, Manufacturing (Molding) to lead injection mold processing, automation, and tooling initiatives for center consoles and interior trim.

The role collaborates with engineering and manufacturing teams to optimize molding processes, reduce cycle times, and ensure safe, high-quality production. Bachelor’s degree or 5 years’ experience in molding required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical discipline.
• 5 years of experience in an injection molding environment.
• Knowledge of Krauss Maffei and VanDorn molding machines preferred.
• Molding automation and EOAT knowledge; Wittmann robot experience preferred.
• Ability to read and critique drawings for high-quality mold designs.

Responsibilities

• Develop molding tools and processes for new products and optimize parts for quality.
• Design reviews focusing on mold size, press size, gates, runners, and ejection.
• Plan molding automation, EOAT, degators, and secondary equipment.
• Support mold trials, process development, and corrective actions.
• Champion tooling at SPI plant and coordinate equipment readiness.
• Improve production molding operations and pursue safety, quality, and efficiency.
• Ensure safe operation and 5S housekeeping in molding area.
